The Oaks – DJ Set Up

A wedding in St. Michaels, Maryland is magical, and one at The Oaks is truly special. Tucked into its beautiful grounds, this waterfront inn has been standing since the 1800s when it was used as a boarding house!

Known for its gracious hospitality, excellent food, handsome rooms and lovely grounds, The Oaks is one of those places that couples planning a waterfront wedding dream about.

Recently, Chris Laich Music Services provided sound and music for a wedding at The Oaks. For the outdoor ceremony alongside the venue’s secluded cove, we used our wireless Bose speakers to deliver the words being spoken and disrupt the picturesque scene as little as possible. During the reception, we strategically placed our Bose speakers to provide just the right volume and tone without affecting the intimate, beautiful setting.

Bolger Center Wedding – DJ Set Up

Nestled in Potomac, Maryland, the Bolger Center is an event venue and wedding weekend retreat all rolled into one.

With handsome grounds, an on-site hotel and a choice of two spacious, modern ballrooms, one of which has a spectacular stained glass wall, the Bolger Center offers a lot to couples looking for a unique place to celebrate.

Between the high ceilings and square footage, calibration is key. Spacing equipment too far apart or too close together can spell disaster from both aesthetic and sound points of view. By placing our Bose wireless speakers at just the right intervals, we’re able to meet our standard of professional and customer experience excellence.

McLean Hilton Wedding – DJ Set Up

Boasting Härth, a new seasonally grown, locally sourced restaurant, and a recently renovated lobby, the McLean Hilton in Tysons Corner is a sophisticated event venue.

Stylish, versatile and convenient, this hotel is also a great place for a wedding!

Recently, Chris Laich Music Services was at the McLean Hilton to help a couple celebrate their marriage. Using our wireless Bose speakers, we made sure every speech was heard and the dance floor kept moving…while remaining as invisible as possible.

Belle Haven – Wedding DJ Equipment Set Up

Couples who celebrate their wedding at Belle Haven get all the grandeur of a historic DC venue plus picturesque views including the Potomac River.

Belle Haven Country Club’s large ballroom and adjacent outdoor balcony are perfect for a wedding reception. Enjoying cocktails outside while taking in the scenery is a great way to kick off a celebration. Plus, with Belle Haven’s amazing event manager, Nicole, any wedding or special event is sure to be fantastic!

Providing stellar sound and a great soundtrack during al fresco cocktails and an indoor reception while staying invisible can be a challenge. But with the help of our wireless Bose speakers and years of experience at the venue, we’re able to do all three!

Decatur House – DJ Equipment Set Up

When it comes to historic wedding venues in DC, you can’t get much closer to the White House than Decatur House!

Sitting right on a corner of Lafayette Square, this 1818 building was the first private residence built in the neighborhood and is now a museum, educational, research and event site.

Decatur House hosts weddings using a combination of its handsome parlors, elegant courtyard and modern Carriage House. With so many variables in terms of size and acoustics, when deejaying weddings at Decatur, it’s best to come prepared for anything.

As always, maintaining a venue’s charm while still delivering the highest quality of sound is our priority. That’s where our wireless Bose speakers combined with our experience at Decatur come in handy!

Wedding at Meadowlark Gardens – Hilary & Garth

Hilary and Garth planned their wedding at Meadowlark Gardens all the way from Utah. Organizing a wedding is never easy, but doing it from across the country…we feel tired just thinking about it!

After all that work, on their December 4 wedding day, Hilary and Garth were more than ready to celebrate! Following their cocktail hour, the bridal party was announced to The Cure’s “Just like Heaven,” while the couple waited their turn in the wings.

Before they knew it, Hilary and Garth were center stage dancing to Shania Twain’s “Still the One” as husband and wife. Once the dinner plates were cleared, everyone flooded the dance floor for a huge dance party! To keep the crowd going, we played tracks from Glenn Miller, Otis Knight, ABBA, Madonna, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Usher, and Pink.

Hilton Alexandria Old Town – Wedding DJ Set Up

Old Town Alexandria has got to be one of the most charming areas outside of Washington, DC to get married! The pleasant streets and historic buildings provide great atmosphere, while its proximity to the city make Old Town a haven for some really great hotels. One of which is the Hilton Alexandria Old Town.

Right in the heart of Old Town, the Hilton has a handsome ballroom made for an elegant wedding reception. Throughout the hotel, there are various event spaces for cocktails, along with a pretty little courtyard perfect for an outdoor ceremony.

The courtyard is an unexpected gem, and when Chris Laich Music Services is managing the music and sound for events there, we work hard to keep the ambiance intimate. Our wireless Bose speakers keep us out of sight while providing perfect, natural sound.

We were at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town recently and snuck a few shots of our equipment set up in their courtyard so you could have a look (below)!

Wedding DJ Set Up – Outside at Meadowlark Gardens

As you know from our earlier post about Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, it’s a fantastic place for a DC wedding. The setting is spectacular, and there are several different spaces on the property that can be utilized for a wedding ceremony and reception.

When weather permits, ceremonies held in the gardens surrounding Meadowlark’s Atrium are really special. In our last post about the venue, we focused on our set-up indoors. This time, we thought we’d share an example of an outside scenario.

It can be somewhat of a challenge to maintain the space’s natural beauty while making sure guests don’t miss a word. That’s when our wireless Bose speakers and experience come in handy!

Chris Laich Music Services works there about 30 times a year and recently provided sound for a wedding ceremony at the venue. Below are a few images showing how unobtrusive our equipment is at Meadowlark.

Wedding DJ Set Up – Halcyon House Washington, DC

Wendy, Halcyon’s event manager, allows only approved wedding professionals on site to ensure her couples stay happy and the property remains handsome. Chris Laich Music Services is proud to be a part of Halcyon’s exclusive group. Working with Wendy at her beautiful site is a pleasure, though it does have its challenges.

While Halcyon House has been refurbished, it is still a centuries-old building. Care must be taken to protect it while also exceeding our client’s expectations of sound quality. Additionally, it’s key to keep our equipment as invisible as possible. Who wants big bulky speakers and vines of wires everywhere?

Our experience at Halcyon House combined with our expertise comes in handy when setting up our wireless Bose speakers and other DJ equipment. To see what our set up at Halcyon House looks like, have a look at the images below!

Wedding DJ Set Up – The Hay Adams

Every time we spy the White House while pulling up to the Hay-Adams Hotel to deejay a wedding, we get excited. You’d think that living in the DC area the President’s house would get old, but it never does!

No matter their size, weddings at the Hay-Adams always seem intimate, as if they’re being thrown in a private home. Maybe that’s because the Hay-Adams has been entertaining the movers and shakers in Washington, DC since the 1800s! Or it could be because of Alison, the Hay-Adams’s Director of Catering. She is one of the most genuine, sweet, and helpful ladies in the entire industry, and all of our brides rave about the time they spend with her!

Whatever the reason, Chris Laich Music Services is always careful to make sure the only things anyone notices are great music and quality sound, not unsightly speakers, wires, or disturbing feedback. By strategically placing our wireless Bose speakers, we achieve the perfect balance of ambiance and aesthetic.
