Welcome to Jeff and Patti, married October 17th at The Metropolitan Club!

CL: What made you choose The Metropolitan Club for your wedding? Was the ceremony held there?
J&P: We loved the space. It was classy, elegant and unique. We liked the “old world” feel of it. I also liked the many rooms and spaciousness. Lastly, as a private members club usually only open during the work week, the place was reserved entirely for us that day. That was very appealing vs. a public space like a hotel. The ceremony was held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Downtown DC near Union Station.
CL: It is a wonderful space, and very special!

CL: Share some of your favorite details about your wedding day.
J&P: Everything was beautifully done from the flowers to the food to the wonderful words spoken by our best man, matron and honor and my father and mother. And after dinner, when the dancing started, Jeff and I barely left the dance floor. The energy and vibe of the party was simply infectious. Everyone had an amazing time.
CL: How did you choose your first dance song?
J&P: Keith Urban – Memories of Us. I saw the video and the words really struck me as perfect for our song. And Jeff really loves country music, which I’ve only started to warm up to, so I thought it was most appropriate. He agreed.

CL: Did you take dance lessons for your first dance?
J&P: We did try one 1 1/2 hour session. But, if felt too stiff and choreographed. Jeff convinced me to just let us dance naturally with no formal steps in mind. That way, we wouldn’t be distracted with trying to keep up to some choreographed dance. I must say he did a great job leading the dance and adding his own flair to it.
CL: You guys looked like you had fun, and moved like pros!

CL: Did you dance all night? What was one of the best moments you remember on the dance floor?
J&P: We definitely danced all night. We barely left the floor. One of the best moments was when Chris played Piano Man, a special request that Jeff made. It’s a tradition for his fraternity brothers to serenade the bride and groom. They all made a circle around us and then many of our guests joined in and the circle was around the edges of the dance floor with everyone singing together. It was so much fun.
CL: What a nice tradition and experience for you both to hold on to.

CL: Who were some of your favorite vendors?
J&P: The Club did all the food for us, including the cake and they did an amazing job. But, I have to say that my florist Greenworks, impressed me the most. The flowers looked amazing in the main dining room.

CL: Who designed your gown? Tell us a little about how you chose it!
J&P: Christos is the designer of my dress. It was the third dress I tried on and nothing else after or before compared. It just fit me perfectly and was exactly the look I wanted. Classy, fitted and traditional. It was a lovely ivory color with gorgeous alencon lace. It was strapless and had an hour glass silhouette , with triple tier silk organza. And the train was not too extravagant, but just enough to make it still look like a “wedding gown” vs. a formal dress.

CL: Where did you honeymoon?
J&P: We went to Hawaii for ten nights to the islands of Lanai and Maui. We stayed at the Four Seasons and Ritz, and they were both simply amazing. It was our first time there and we simply loved it.

CL: Hawaii is such a beautiful place – a perfect spot to honeymoon!
CL: Thank you both for sharing a part of your wedding day with us, and best wishes!
