The Music
“I received so many compliments from the guests about the music mix and transitions. My husband is a musician and is very particular; but he was completely amazed at what you did with our playlist. Your timing and mixes were impeccable as witnessed from the overflowing dancefloor. OMG – you really were worth every penny we spent!!” Madeline and Richard
Being a DJ isn’t just about having a laptop with some itunes music and a sound system. It’s about knowing the people you are with and feeling the energy in the room. Knowing what song to play and when to play it can transform an event and take it to another level.
A typical Chris Laich event will have a cocktail hour and dinner featuring a variety of standards, from classics by Ella and Etta to more recent offerings by Eva Cassidy and Jack Johnson. When it’s time to dance, the DJ will smoothly shift from the soft sounds played at dinner to an upbeat mix of songs guaranteed to appeal to everyone in the crowd, including standards, Motown classics, ‘70s dance, ‘80s rock, ‘90s pop and hip-hop, right up to the newest dance music of today. It truly is something for everyone.
Below are two sample music lists; but please note these are only suggestions:
Upbeat Dance list
This is a list of more upbeat music you may choose from for general dancing.
First Dance and Parent Dances
This list offers some suggestions for First Dances, Father/Daughter Dances and Mother/Son Dances.
While the Chris Laich music collection covers thousands of songs and spans all popular music of the last 70 years, the DJ will ultimately play what you want to hear. If you’re not sure what music you want played, Chris and his associates will be happy to help you pick the music that’s right for you and your event.
