Breathe Deep DC – Lung Cancer Awareness Event

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Wedding DJ, live music, private events DJ…Chris Laich Music Services loves to celebrate!

We also love to give back. Every year, we provide the sound and music for Breathe Deep DC. Held by the LUNGevity Foundation, the event raises funds for cancer research, as well as for awareness.

It’s an honor to continue to be asked to provide our services to such a worthy cause, and we’re excited to say that the 2010 LUNGevity event was a success. According to The Washington Post, Breathe Deep DC raised over $270,000!

Check out some of the pictures we snapped of the day:

Hearts Delight Wine tasting and Auction

At the Heart’s Delight Wine Tasting and Auction, event guests, winemakers, and chefs gather to enjoy fine food and wine, attend seminars on epicurean trends, and bid.  It’s an amazing three days filled with incredible food and wine that, over the course of its 10 year history, has raised over $8 million for the American Heart Association.

It’s important to us that we give back, and Chris Laich Music Services is proud to have contributed to such a wonderful event and cause by providing live musicians!

Capital Food Fight: Top Chef, DC Style

Capitol Food Fight 2009
We were proud when Chris Laich Music Services was asked to participate in The Capital Food Fight 2009, benefiting DC Central Kitchen, on November 11th.  Not as chefs, of course, but to provide music.
The DC Central Food kitchen is a very forward thinking charity, raising the concept of “a soup kitchen” to the next level.  The DC Central Food Kitchen acts as a central location for the DC area’s unused food, which is prepared into meals that are then delivered to social service agencies for distribution. Additionally, the DC Central Food Kitchen trains and educates homeless men and women about the food service industry, providing not just sustenance but also opportunity.

Hosted by Chef José Andrés, Chef Anthony Bourdain, and Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis, the Capital Food Fight “brings the food industry’s best talent together to support DC Central Kitchen’s unique brand of community empowerment. Dozens of hot restaurants serve signature dishes to guests while top chefs battle on-stage.”

As fans of Top Chef and Iron Chef, it was both exciting and an honor to be a part of an event benefiting a charity with such a strong and progressive focus on building a better community.
